WHAT IS NAVIGATE OCEANIA...
Navigate Oceania is a collection of independent and exclusive properties in Fiji, Cook Islands and throughout New Zealand. The Navigate Oceania banner, and sister brand Navigate Villa Collection, are recognised by consumers and global travel suppliers as a mark of excellence and gateway to a true luxury experience.
In conjunction with their own unique offering, Navigate collection members are able to provide guests with a range of amenities of assured quality via Navigate’s established relationships with other exclusive service providers such as limousine, private jet, helicopters and luxury yacht providers.
As such, members of the Navigate Oceania collections offer an unparalleled level of service and experience for the discerning Antipodean & South Pacific traveller.
Supporting this collection is the Navigate Oceania team. At its core the Navigate team act as a bridge between the best luxury experiences offered in New Zealand and the Pacific (the collection members), and consumers and travel suppliers in the market of exclusive, premier accommodation. Though Navigate members are a single property in their own right, being a collection member provides them with a level of visibility and presence that can only be achieved through scale.
Navigate already have, and continue to work hard at, the hundreds of individual connections and relationships needed to fully engage the exclusive luxury travel market. The team have long-term relationships with many of the industry’s principal influencers and are experts in this niche and the channels to target in order to access the relevant consumer and supplier demographic. This said, Navigate is more than a marketing company. Navigate offers a depth and breadth of collaboration unique to them. Navigate’s blend of adept marketing, industry experience and relationships, business understanding and accessibility contribute to a collaborative and measurably successful journey through the nuances and unique challenges of the exclusive global travel community.
BACKGROUND
Having worked in the international luxury hospitality industry for most of her life, Director Karine Thomas found herself (like most Kiwis) longing for home. In early 2000 Karine returned to New Zealand to lead the Sales and Marketing team for Sheraton Auckland Hotel and Towers.
Having made such strong relationships and understood the expectations of luxury travellers, Karine often found herself contacted by consumers and suppliers for advice on where to find something special in New Zealand and the Pacific. To fill this gap, in 2003, Navigate Oceania was born.
Navigate’s business model is two-pronged;
- Represent the very best lodges offering an authentic character and experience unique to its region,
- Exclusively target the most valuable sectors of the global luxury market and their complimentary providers, e.g. travel supplier, luxury carriers and services.
The model has proved effective and powerful. Since its creation, Navigate Oceania has grown to become a trusted partner for global travel suppliers. More and more demand is being placed on the Navigate team to source and represent the very best of the whole pacific. In recognition of this demand, Navigate has recently extended the collection to create a sister brand of luxury Oceania villas in the Navigate Villa collection.
Since inception Navigate has seen significant changes in the travel industry and the way accommodation is procured. In order to help collection members stay buoyant in such a competitive and shifting market, the Navigate team offer an edge. And, it’s working!
Navigate’s collaborative approach and industry profile have a proven track record of success with collection members, many of whom have been with Navigate from the beginning. All have enjoyed a measureable increase in target market profile and room bookings, ensuring a healthy return on their investments.
WHAT DO NAVIGATE DO?
Through a blend of personal relationships, targeted advertising, brand stature, business understanding and experience Navigate harness their established connections, media contacts and trade forum representation to fully leverage consumers and suppliers in this niche market. Navigate know where to invest profile, time and resource to access the very specific part of the travel sector the collection members cater to. Individual members benefit from the presence that is created by the full collection.
In addition, having direct contact with both those staying at properties and those running properties, Navigate provide a unique insight in to what the market demand and challenges are for luxury travel. The team ensure collection members are well aware of what is on offer regionally and globally so they have forward visibility of consumer trends and expectations.Sometimes, this means pushing Navigate partners beyond their previous creative boundaries or addressing things they weren’t aware of or may prefer not to deal with. But like any partnership, open and honest communication complimented with total transparency are what build strong relationships and tangible outcomes.
This combination of skills and approaches have numerous benefits;
- targeted marketing focused where you need your brand to be,
- forward planning of expenditure for a no surprises environment,
- awareness of market trends and expectations,
- accessibility to advice, support and market relevant information and data,
- a cohesive global approach to ensure that profile opportunities are cross leveraged as much as possible,
- comparative and feedback opportunities often unavailable to the independent property owner,
- several decades of experience behind the thinking to ensure that Navigate’s lessons from the past are yours to benefit from.
With all this said... at the end of the day... what Navigate ‘do’ is to measurably increase bookings for property owners and enable them to receive the return on investment they have worked so hard to achieve.
“ We partner only with those who can offer an authentic experience, true to its region or their unique character. Many are multiple award winners and members of exclusive worldwide memberships. Welcome to our world!” – Karine Thomas

There is only perceived reality, the way each of us chooses to perceive a communication, the value of a service, the quality of a produce. Feelings are facts’.
