The Green Room - Certified Sustainable Luxury TourismTM is an international sustainable tourism benchmarking and certification (accreditation) programme, exclusively designed for small luxury accommodation operators.

Sustainability is at the heart of how we and our Navigate Collection do business, focusing on the environmental, social and economic factors in an integrated manner i.e., 'Responsible Business'.

As the definition of 'green' intersects with sustainable and both nature in the marketplace, and it becomes abundantly clear that a green hotel needn't detract from the guest experience but enhance the experience.

Exclusively designed for the small luxury lodge, resort and spa hotels of the Navigate Collection is The Green Room - Certified Sustainable Luxury TourismTM. The certification supports operators to develop stewardship programmes that are relevant, achievable and credible to the industry and discerning guest alike. The Green Room from 2009 will run alongside Green Globe, the worldwide benchmarking, certification and performance improvement system and Qualmark Environmental, New Zealand's official mark of quality that assesses environmental performance and initiatives in energy, waste, water, conservation and community service. Additionally The Green Room acknowledges those members that adhere to new standards of all-round healthy living within the Navigate Collection including reducing pesticides and chemicals used in guestrooms, public spaces and gardens encouraging kitchens to choose local and organic produce.
